ISA account for US nationals working in UK

Hi,

I have a friend who is an US citizen by birth and she is working in UK from last 10 years.
Can she open an ISA?
If so what would be the process for InvesEngine.

Good afternoon Siddiqui and thank you for your question.

Although we’d love to onboard your friend to InvestEngine, as a US citizen/tax resident, I’m afraid we won’t be able to do so at this time.

The enhanced reporting requirements imposed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and restrictions on the ETFs we could invest in on your behalf, means it’s not possible for you to open an account with us as we’re currently unable to facilitate this.

However, we will continue to review this and explore future possibilities to be able to accept investors who previously resided in the US.
