Thanks for the reply Pinch. Yeh, it sounds like i may just be better holding the pension with sjp until such times that IE have sorted out the transfers from more than just vanguard. Cheers

Wondering will it enable to transfer old workplace pension from providers such as Aviva and others.

Maybe but right now only Vanguard SIPPā€™s can be transferred.

Everything else is unconfirmed - or vaguely stated to be ā€œin developmentā€ or suchlike.

If you have a workplace pension and want to transfer it youā€™re probably better off to transfer to another low-cost provider for the time being.

I appreciate their efforts to get SIPP transfers in right and their abundance of caution, but the silence is deafening. Having waited over a year, Iā€™m starting to lose faith that transfers in will ever happen for the pension provider Iā€™ve been parking my Ā£Ā£ with.
Given this, Iā€™m considering putting it in a different SIPP provider. Does anyone have any tips or experiences?

Should I wait it out for IE?

Should I transfer to one of the providers they do support and do a double transfer?

Hi @nickpeirson , thanks for your question! We donā€™t currently have a public roadmap showing a ranked list of SIPP providers. We know adding more providers is very important, and our team is working hard to roll this out in efficient phases. Weā€™ll be sure to announce as soon as the next provider has been confirmed.

Hi, Iā€™ve been waiting for a long time to transfer in my pension. In parallel you also donā€™t support payments from employers (how the majority of people fund their pensions). I donā€™t personally keep lots of cash ready for pension investments, and so am paying into a random work-chosen 2nd pension while waiting. Is there any news on either new provider options in the future, or the ability for my workplace to make payments into my pension with you?

  • Cash transfers usually take around 2ā€“3 weeks to complete.
  • In-specie transfers (where assets are moved rather than sold) can take 4ā€“6 weeks or longer, depending on the type of investments and how quickly both providers process the transfer.

The overall duration can be affected by factors such as the complexity of the assets and the efficiency of communication between providers. While we always aim to complete transfers as quickly as possible, some delays can occur due to the counterpartyā€™s processing times.
