(Sipp) Self invested personal pension

Any update on the release date? Is it November?

The new pricing is great for lower pots. However, it is not competitive to FreeTrade’s flat fee of ~144£ for larger pots. I doubt many people with large pots will switch to IE given this which will limit the AUM and subsequent revenues.

@Paul_M Is this still happening in November? Lots of mentions of coming weeks, November and then it’s just been very quiet.

Well its either by Thursday this week or not.

Doesn’t look like November then…

Hi! Apologies for not providing you with an update in time.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to launch SIPPs just yet, but we are working hard to make it happen shortly!
We can’t give you any specific date, but we will keep you informed once SIPPs are introduced!

Well Anna, you did provide the update in time as it is still November.

But… how the company communicates and what it communicates and what it doesn’t communicate, not just to its customers but also to its investors and the wider public, is pretty amateurish, I think.

Maybe you should hire someone, or a team of people, who has an idea of customer service and marketing and can improve the way you’re doing things in this regard.

As for SIPPs: Well, I’m not holding my breath and my money, which was earmarked for transfer, stays invested elsewhere.

Guess this isn’t happening in '23 now?

InvestEngine is thrilled to announce the launch of our long-awaited Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP)

SIPP accounts will go live in the week commencing January 8, 2024 - initially just for clients who have preregistered on the waitlist, before a wider, full public launch. We appreciate everyone's patience and we're looking forward to bringing you this new opportunity to enhance your retirement planning with InvestEngine in 2024.

I’m always excited to hear about new tools and features that can help me better manage my finances.
I’m looking forward to trying out the SIPP and seeing how it can help me achieve my financial goals.
Thanks again for sharing this exciting news! (Hope there are no more changes to this date).

Will the pricing and features for SIPP be revealed on 08/01/2024?
I have registered for waitlist, will i get an email for creating a SIPP or do i need to register again for waitlist?

Received an email as below in September, would this be sufficient to get early access to SIPP?

@vvsvin – We’ll post the full pricing policy before launch but I’ll be 0.15% pa taken monthly with a £200 annual cap.

The featured will be limited at launch, the products is designed for people in the accumulation phase of their retirement savings. We’re also still working through the details of transfers + employer contributions. But I’ll look to share details of our roadmap for adding these additional features later in H1 of 2024.

Hi Tom, that’s great news!

Can I suggest to also plow through the list of requested ETF’s, for instance Global X’s QYLP / XYLP / SDIP, which have so far not been added to the current list of investable ETF’s?

This way the new year starts with a great product at a reasonably competitive price with a bunch of newly available ETF’s to invest in.

Hello!
Thank you for your ETF suggestions! Please be assured that the list has been forwarded to the relevant team, who will look into adding mentioned ETFs to the platform

Hi, what is the process in getting ETF’s added to the available range?

Hi!

We can’t give any precise date for adding new funds at the moment but we’ll post updates here, on our Community Forums and social media whenever we do add new funds.

Thanks again and I hope you have a great day!

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I didn’t ask for the precise date - I’m interested in understanding what goes into the decision of adding / not adding an ETF to the available range.

I also keep seeing requests being raised by other people and the answer is always the same - that you guys can’t give a precise date which is fine in general … but there never seems to be any updates on which ETF’s have been requested, what the process is for an ETF to be added to the range, how far the decision-making for requested ETF’s has come etc etc.

These things aren’t communicated to people who have an account and they are also not communicated in the investor updates. Food for thought, methinks.

I’ve been very impressed by how responsive InvestEngine are to ETF suggestions, but i agree I’ve never actually seen new ETFs “announced” on the forum and have mostly found out they have been added by just searching for them one day and seeing that they are there.

Would be nice if there was a “New ETF” community post that was updared with new additions.

Thanks Tom, that’s good news. When you say you’re working out the details of transfers, does that mean that only direct contributions will be available at launch? My plan is to transfer assets in from two other schemes, with periodic transfers from my current employer scheme going forward (as there are very generous incentives for me to salary sacrifice).

Not a huge deal, but the answer will affect the shorter term management of the assets in my employer’s current scheme. Thanks again, and looking forward to the launch.

Will IE / can it use Origo Options? - my existing provider says it will only do electonic transfers out using that?
