When can my employer pay into my SIPP?

I’ve had a SIPP now for about 4 months that I’ve been paying into but my employer is unable to make contributions. I keep seeing that IE is unable to facilitate this but say that they hope to be able to do it soon but still no updates or information. Does anyone know, especially anybody from IE have any news?

Hi! We are currently working on implementing the ability for employers to make contributions to SIPP accounts. Our team is diligently working on the finer details and new features to facilitate this. We understand the importance of this feature and are aiming to have it available as soon as possible.

We will provide updates as soon as we have more information

Any indication about its ETA?

Any news on this?

I’m hoping to switch to IE after the vanguard fee increase and the IE fee decrease.

As a director, it’s crucial that I can make company contributions.

Do you think it’ll happen within the next six months?

I second here. I would only transfer from Vanguard once investing directly from my ltd is available. By the way, this thread started already several months ago. If you have this feature in the roadmap of development, it would make sense for you let us know to have an idea about it. The answers we get here “Our team is diligently working on the finer details bla bla” are the typical answer ones gets from a boring old large corporation. Be a startup and let us know in a transparent way when you have this in the pipeline! It matters for planning my next company and personal year!

Hello all!

Please be advised that our pensions team are working on implementing the ability to accept employer contributions to SIPP accounts. We understand the importance of this feature, and we are focused on bringing it to you as soon as possible. While we do not yet have a specific timeline, we will provide an update here as soon as more information becomes available. We appreciate your patience and will keep you informed of our progress. Thank you for your understanding.

…And they replied to you with more copy pasta…makes one wonder.

Hi @sipper - sorry you feel that way. The team really is working hard on all of this, there’s a range of priorities for our new Pensions lead, and this is one of them, as well as opening up wider SIPP transfers. As soon as we have more to share we’ll let you know.

Update? Will not be using IE’s SIPP until this is implemented and sticking with my alternate provider which I encourage others operating as a Ltd Co. to do until this is sorted

Can you let me know who you use please, as i need a SIPP a LTD co can contribute into

Thanks

@G10

AJ Bell allows employer contributions

Vanguard - see below.

Trading212 - doesn’t offer a SIPP yet. According to the boards T212 is now advising the end of 2025 as a possible start date for their SIPP.

Looking like I’m also going to need to go with another SIPP provider as I want to make employer contributions before the end of June.

And that’s perfectly fine - I do have more than 1 SIPP myself.

I think in general one needs to start by looking at what one wants from any SIPP provider, i.e. the ability to make employer contributions, the range of investments offered (ETF’s, shares etc.), linked accounts between family members and so on and then to look at what this would cost - commission, monthly/annual admin fees, fixed or percentage fees, transfer fees in case one wants to move everything to a different provide.

But it seems to me that that’s not the approach taken by a lot of people. :person_shrugging:

hi! I’m also waiting to know when the feature to make employer contributions from my new company is going to happen. Via support I got the a similar answer “we are yet to introduce employer contributions for SIPPs. This is currently being worked on and you can expect updates on the product as soon as possible.” I’m starting out my own limited company in June and I wanted to avoid to have to do this with another provider. If the answer is just “as soon as possible” it’s so relative and I don’t know really what to expect, knowing that this thread with the same question started almost a year ago.

Thanks in advance!

Bearing in mind that there doesn’t seem to be anything happening soon… you might be better off opening a SIPP for employer contributions elsewhere for the time being.

I’d say that if the feature was ready to be rolled out shortly the reply to you would have been different.

Another person here who cannot open a SIPP here until you accept employer contributions

I thought InvestEngine will use the feedback from the users here to prioritize and expedite what customers want. IE you are getting free market research, so act on it!!
