I prefer not to invest dividends/interest in the same portfolio, i.e., no auto-invest, but decide later. I am wondering if there is an option which can enable all the dividends/interest to go my cash portfolio if auto-invest is disabled? I thought this is how it works in T212.
Hi, if you don’t turn on AutoInvest then any incoming dividends will just sit in the portfolio they are received in.
If you want to invest these dividends into an ETF which is in a different portfolio then you need to move the money using the Move Cash Out option via the Options button.
And yes, this is handled differently in IE than it is handled in T212.
Thanks @Pinch , I am looking for automation so that you don’t have to do it manually, which is not pleasant when you have many portfolios. I guess IE could easily implement this feature.
