Thank you Tom , in the example it’s OK , we have both ETFs but with IITU is not the case (if I’m not wrong) , so Ill never know the amount re invested and when that happened , because the amount of shares doesn’t change , just the price, is that correct? thank you
The annual Ishares excel earnings spreadsheet shows the excess income that is reinvested rather than distributed. You can find it on the Ishares site.
Tom: I don’t suppose this appears on the ctc? It should be included in the cgt section.
Hi cmsd2 , thank you for your help , DEC 21 to NOV 22 this was the Excess of
Reported Income
per Unit"
0.1260 .
The excess reportable income isn’t in our CTC reports unfortunately…Its quite difficult to get the data for all providers in a format that’s easy to work with.
But yep great point for tracking the uninvested cash within the ETF
if that’s the case and you aren’t accounting for ERIs, do you think the CTC and CGT reports might not be exactly correct?
it sounds like the ERI isn’t included in the total liable to income tax , nor added to the cost basis for later CGT calculations?
Hi , lost track of the page to access that info. any help available please ? I went to the Ishares site but can’t figure it out .Thank you in advance .
go to the ishares site for individuals and search for your etf. scroll to the literature section.
e.g. https://www.ishares.com/uk/individual/en/products/280510/?referrer=tickerSearch#productLiterature
look for the document titled “iShares V Reportable Income 2022”, or whatever year you’re looking for. it’s an excel spreadsheet.
lots of the etfs are all under the same umbrella ICAV corporate entity, so you may only need this one spreadsheet for all your ishares.
find the ISINs you need and look at the column “Excess of
Reported Income
per Unit” and “Fund
Distribution
Date”. you’ll probably need to figure out how many units you held on the correct date which i think is at the end of the “reporting period”, and in the case of a partial or whole disposal, fudge the ERI notional distribution so that it’s included even though the effective distribution date is 6 months later. i’m not 100% clear on that bit.
basically it’s possible to get into a real mess, and if any broker promises to actually calculate this correctly for you then i’ll sing their praises
Got it , thank you so much for your help . $0.04040 if I’m not wrong was last one .
