Hello. first post, sorry for anything I need to be sorry for!

I have ISAs and SIPPs in other places, including e.g. Hargreaves Landsdown.
I’m looking for somewhere to put about 400k. (Yes aware of 85k limit)
I move / rebalance funds moderately frequently, so I want them to be quick about it. HSBC bank take a week, HL are about 3 days usually. How long to switch an ETF at IEng? I also use a trading patform where it’s free and instant.

What I have enjoyed at HL more than some other places is:
A good range of funds
A pretty good website
Help at hand.

I see a few problems at I Eng. Perhaps you can tell me what I’m missing?
1) There’s no fund screener, so I presume I’m expected to use Morningstar/ETFScreener etc to find them. But I will see ETFs elsewhere which aren’t here - annoying. I could create an excel spreadsheet and scrape numbers but that’s a chore.

2) There are no OEICs, which is what I mostly use.
Three ish I’ve used recently are
Jupiter India (90% in 29 mnths. It has gone flat , but I held it for a year for 55%)
Baillie Gifford America B - designed to beat the SPY, (80% in 29 mnths)
MAN GLG Dynamic IH (bond, Ireland based) Recently they dropped the “GLG” so it’s called
MAN DynInc
MAN MAN DynInc etc
for some reason! (68% in 29 mnths and nicely smooth)
There are a few Tech funds which beat XLK (tech sector etf) one shown. (80% in 29 mnths)

I tend to hold Baillie G & Tech until the indicator persuade me to go to the Bond at MAN for a while. Some small caps and financials too at the moment.

3) There are no leveraged ETFs. Risky I know but I have used some of those to good effect.
The 400 came from 50 put into 3NVD for a couple of months. (Thousands % in 29 months)
Here’s the track records since July 2022, so 29 months or so. Can IEng compete, with ETFs which are not single stocks?

A couple are on there for reference, like the SPY500 which I don’t tend to use. (A mere 50% in 29 months) Because there’s always something better.

Thanks for any help
Suzy

Morning Suzy :slightly_smiling_face: ,

Investengine (IE) is an ETF-only platform therefore:

  1. no fund screener needed as no funds are being offered. As for the ETF’s you see elsewhere which aren’t offered here - IE only offers ETF’s listed in London and which are trading in GBP. Please check if this is the case for the ETF’s you’re interested in - if it is: please do post on these boards to suggest that they are being added to the range of available ETF’s.

  2. No OEICs on offer as they aren’t ETF’s

  3. No leveraged ETF’s offered as per comment below

Thanks Pinch,
Yes I realise IE only has ETFs. I don’t see why it couldn’t have an ETFundscreener. Other screeners will have a different range so you could find one you like and it not be here.

Pity about having nothing leveraged.
What’s the point of ETFs then, asking rather tongue in cheek but when there’s always what you’re calling a Fund, that’s better? Maybe not for US banks, not sure.

Are there any ETFs which give a return something like that Blue bond thing above?

I have an ISA at Trading212. Today I bought 3 x Microstrategy, 3MST when it got down to the previous low of day, and it went up about 30% with bitcoin and the others. That’s nice but not “rare”, it’s a repeat of many similar days in the last year, so the pot has got to much more than I trust them with. The people aren’t nice. If they don’t like the way you won your money they sue you - google reveals all.
That’s another one I have to find a home for.
